798 Art: When it comes to airplanes, people usually think of them as eagles spreading their wings and flying straight into the sky. Why did you choose to paint some old and broken old airplanes?
Wang Zheng: This has a close relationship with my family. Most of my family members are engaged in civil aviation-related work. This is true from the generation of grandparents to my parents. The growth environment of our generation is inseparable from airplanes, and the circle of life is also very small. The proportion of children inheriting their father's business has basically reached more than 90%, but in for me, I don't want to inherit the family tradition. I have loved painting since I was a child, and I feel that nothing is as good as painting, which makes me happy and feel at ease. Painting is the closest part of my life. In the process of slowly learning to paint, I feel that I have found something I really like, so I stick to it.

798 Art: Can you talk about the creative background of this series?
Wang Zheng: At first, I only used the opportunity of graduation creation to paint this theme. At that time, I thought that I could not paint for a year or two. But as I painted, I found it more and more fun. The more I painted, the more fun I felt. There were infinite possibilities, so I want to continue this series of old airplanes.
This series is acctually very sad. In fact, I am also a person with melancholy emotions in my heart. I don’t like to paint sunny subjects. I used to study in the Central Academy of Fine Arts for a few years. When I was out sketching, I also liked painting cloudy days very much. The scene, and the gray tone will naturally make people have unlimited reveries. My first memories of these old airplanes, coupled with the previous look and stories of each old airplane that my grandfather told, let his emotions for them were passed on to my generation, and I will inject this feeling into my paintings. In the painting. Although the planes in the past had their glorious glory, they can no longer fly. I want to express this sad emotion in a purer and more direct way.
